Most of the tourists visiting the famous hill station of Mount Abu in the State of Rajasthan in India find it rather difficult to locate proper restaurant that serves nice and clean food items. Though, there are hundreds of such restaurants, situated all around the city of Mount Abu, many of such restaurants may not be serving hygienic food items and at times, the tourists have to suffer sickness at such hill stations during their joy trips. I had recently an opportunity to visit Mount Abu during my latest trip to India and I was able to find one such quality food restaurant at Mount Abu. This restaurant is Hotel Sankalp, which serves authentic South Indian food items along with few North Indian cuisines also.

Hotel Sankalp is situated very close to the polo ground in the main market area near Hotel Maharaja. This restaurant offers almost around sixty delicious South Indian food delicacies along with around twelve varieties of Uncle Sam Pizzas and many Punjabi style food items. However, this restaurant is extremely famous for the South Indian food items mainly. The restaurant is fully air conditioned and is having separate party hall and the family rooms. The restaurant menu consists of around sixteen varieties of Dosas like plain, Masala, Mysore, and the famous paper Dosa, which is a specialty of this restaurant. One plate of dosa costs around Rs.75 ($1.50). Around twelve varieties of uthappas are also served like masala uthappa, onion uthappa, and the tomatoes uthappa. One plate of uthappa costs around Rs.80 ($1.60) on an average. The famous South Indian Idlis are also offered in around ten varieties, costing around Rs.50 ($1.0) per plate. All these South Indian items are served in steaming hot condition with the coconut chutney and the most tasteful masala sambhar. The other South Indian items like curd rice, Rasam rice, and the famous masala rice are also offered at this restaurant at the cost of around Rs.70 ($1.40) per plate. The other Indian snacks like puribhaji, stuffed Paraunthas, and Chole puri are also available at the rate of around Rs.80 ($1.60) per plate. The hot masala tea, famous South Indian brewed coffee, chocolate. Milk and the butter milk are also available here. We had ordered the mix of Masala Dosas, uthappas, and the fried idli/medu vada amongst our group of six persons.

Though, the rates appear slightly costlier here at Hotel Sankalp, while comparing with other such restaurants, the tourists get the authentic and pure South Indian food. The US pizzas are also available here as Sankalp has also an authorization for sale of Uncle Sam Pizzas in India. The pizzas are served in around twenty varieties in the cost ranging from Rs. 50 9$1.0) to Rs. 200 ($4.0) for the premium varieties of Pizzas like Hawaiian ecstasy, American Heat, Spanish Passion, and hot and spicy. Sankalp has around forty eight outlets in India in almost all the major cities like Mumbai, Delhi, Vadodara, Surat, and Udaipur. This restaurant holds the world record of making thirty feet diameter Dosa in the year 2006. This unique achievement helped this restaurant to get entry in to the Limca record book of India The team of twenty cooks worked to make this unique size of Dosa. The restaurant offers a full size family dosa of five feet diameter that can be sufficient for the family of four to six people. The cost of such family Dosa is Rs.500 ($10) per order. It may take around one hour to serve this family dosa. The restaurant also offers wide variety of the desert items like ice creams, Gulab Jamuns, Carrot halwa, and the pastries. The restaurant remains open from 7 am to 10 pm in the night during all seven days of the week. This restaurant has no parking facilities and the guests would need to park their vehicles slightly away from the restaurant in the open polo ground area.

We enjoyed our meal at this famous restaurant at Mount Abu and would surely suggest to all my AC friends and readers to pay a visit to this luxurious South Indian restaurant at Mount Abu during their next visit to India. It would be better if the tourists can book their table in advance by making a call to the restaurant at phone number 098289 23250.
