Author Justin Hart Speaks to Associated Content

Justin Hart is a man of God; he is a leader, a son, an inspirational speaker and now an Author. I came across Justin's work recently and was impressed with this young man's passion and drive and I was curious about his latest book, Liquid Sunshine.

Liquid Sunshine is a story that examines the souls of three young adults, and reveals the hidden desires of direction, purpose and identity. It captures the importance of forgiveness and redemption, proving how God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love Him and are called according to His purpose.

I recently caught up with Justin and here is what he had to say:

A.C.: Welcome Justin and thanks so much for taking time out of your busy schedule and speak with us today.

J.H.: Thank you so much for having me; it's a pleasure to be on your show.

A.C.: Okay, Justin, let's start at the beginning. Where are you from?

J.H.: I'm from the small city of Newport News in Hampton Roads, Virginia; the same hometown as Michael Vick and Allen Iverson.

A.C.: How was it like growing up in Newport News, Virginia?

J.H.: In my eyes, great. It was rough enough to learn street smarts, yet safe enough for me to enjoy my youth. I had a great balance. But knowing my environment, I still had decisions to make every day of whether or not to get involved with the wrong crowd, if you know what I mean.

A.C.: How do you think your background influenced your journey with Christ?

J.H.: My background and the things that I've gone through have created my testimony. God has shown himself faithful even when I was unfaithful to him; putting him second, and sometimes third on my list. But because I was not blind to His love, our relationship is stronger today than it has been ever before.

A.C: Let's talk about your latest project, "Liquid Sunshine". What was your inspiration for this book?

J.H.: My inspiration for writing Liquid Sunshine was more of a tug at my heart. While I was experiencing my "rainy season" I knew that God was involved. So metaphorically speaking, once the rain cleared and the sun began to shine again, I had a choice to make... That choice was whether or not I was going to share my story with the world. And I think you know what I decided to do (chuckling).

A.C.: I understand the premises of the book, but what is the ultimate message that you are trying to convey?

J.H.: Well, the message itself is hard to pinpoint. My readers will get several messages from the book. It's one of those types of books that overflows with wisdom concerning the heartaches of love and the headaches of life. But if I had to give you a specific moral behind Liquid Sunshine I would say, obedience is what God wants. Spiritual, emotional, and physical obedience in its purest form is God's will, and certainly the moral of the story.

A.C.: You appear to be a driven person Justin, how does your Passion for God influence the decisions that you make in your life?

J.H.: I am a driven person. Thank you for noticing. I was granted the gift of "self-motivation" back in college and it hasn't left me yet, praises the Lord. I didn't always have it though. Now, I use my passion and motivation to strengthen others with my words and actions. I know folks watch me. It's okay. I'm glad they do. It holds me accountable and keeps me making good decisions, but I never intend to lose my identity in Christ from what people think or say about me. Jesus is my foundation and I want people to see that my foundation is strong.

A.C.: Can you let our readers know where to purchase "Liquid Sunshine"?

J.H.: From now until August 12^th I am accepting pre-orders on my website www.justinhartnovels.com. On the 13^th will be my big Amazon Best Seller Launch where I anticipate becoming a #1 best selling author. After the 13^th feel free to purchase my book at any mainstream online bookstore, Barnes & Noble, Borders, Books A Million. Or my readers can just continue to purchase them through my website and receive a signed copy. I like that option better.

A.C.: Justin, I would like you to give our aspiring Authors some words of wisdom on where to begin when writing your first novel.

J.H.: It starts in your head, and then moves to your heart. Once you decide it is ready to leave your heart, it will flow through your fingertips and onto your paper. Believe in yourself. Ask God to help you. Stay motivated. And finish what you start. Simply ride the coattail of God's grace and watch where He takes you...that is my advice.
