AutoCAD 2008: The Key to Professional 3D Modelling and Visualization Drawings

How has it changed?

AutoCAD goes back to the basics of 2D this year with a new strategy approach in mind. These issues were noticed constantly on a wide scale by many customer feedbacks which entirely have lead to this response by AutoCAD. There was no change in the file format which was why it was a non-troublesome release. This has given relief to many users that upgrading from the previous version to the improved new one will be simple. Below we take a look in detail of a few of the new features that have been introduced:

More in depth look

Previously in AutoCAD, to create a repeated annotation which was displayed in the same constant size, this would of lead the users in having to create various numbers of layers that all varied in size. In response to making the new program more effective, AutoCAD 2008 decided to introduce an innovative concept known as "annotation scaling".

This new feature allowed users to be able to interpret drawings, texts, dimensions and blocks with relative ease. This was by having a property available that was directly related with them. They have created an option to turn it on or off for either an object style or even a single object which is very useful. Not to mention numerous scales with it as well. The selection of setting the annotation scale which basically is for the layout view ports also allows a good use. This allows us to be able to organize the size of the annotative objects.

Another new option introduced was being able to manage the visibility of various annotative objects. This was entirely based on if their scales would equal that of those of the view port - Those of which have already been introduced. This would mean that you are in the driving seat to decide whether or not to be able to choose to turn the display on or off.

Another great feature that was incorporated in the new version of AutoCAD 2008 was relating to scaling and annotation - To be able to change the scales of an annotative object. This allows it to be better located and configured for precise scales. This modification can usually be done using grips upon where the object gets relocated.

While a user is performing this editing, the new features allow the display of the object to be turned on temporarily. This allows you to see how the current scale relates to one another.

Would you say it's better than AutoCAD 2007?

Well seeing that most changes incorporated in this new edition of AutoCAD was mainly due to customer feedback, the previous version was definitely missing the main necessities that are required by a professional designer. The extra features that have been modified for certain make AutoCAD the ultimate key to a designer's success.
