Living in New England, activities tend to revolve around the seasons. The fall in New England is beautiful, the days are warm and sunny and the nights are cool and crisp and perfect for cuddling. It's probably the most comfortable time to be outside enjoying the fresh air and the bountiful fresh fruits and vegetables from the hot summer.

Undoubtedly our favorite fall activity is apple picking . New England is loaded with apple orchards , but picking apples the only thing to do. The farms generally offer hayrides, corn mazes, petting zoos, live music, fresh cider and donuts, pick your own pumpkin, contests and much , much more. During the Halloween season their events are even more fun like haunted hayrides, bobbing for apples, carving jack o' lanterns, building scarecrows and even more. Check it out!

After we go picking it usually leads us into another of our fall favorites -----baking. We like to make apple crisp, deep dish apple pie , applesauce , baked pumpkin seeds , pumpkin pie and all the other fall delights with all the fruits and veggies from the farm. It's always a good feeling to bake for your family and friends.

Fall doesn't mean forgetting about all those great beaches. They're not only for swimming and sun bathing. It 's one of the nicest places to walk , alone , with a friend or with your dog. While strolling along searching for shells, sea glass and sand dollars is great fun. If you happen to have one, metal detecting at the Beach can turn into quite a find.

Another fall activity which is fairly new to me is Letterboxing. It's sort of like a treasure hunt but you follow clues and collect stamps. It can be quite fun.

If you live on the East Coast or want to visit, then you have to check out the fall foliage the vibrant colors and the mountains look like they are hand painted. We often collect our favorite leaves and use them for crafts and future projects.

The weather is still warm enough to check out some of the great camping sites. The best part is that all the summer crowds are gone and the evening are quiet and relaxing. The hiking, fishing and marshmallow roasting are only a few of the great things to do. So, grab a sweatshirt and a friend and visit New England this fall It's worth the trip!
