Autumn Aglow

Steven West
The brisk winds of autumn
Bring a chill to the air.
Apple cider warms the heart.
Go ahead and share.
Smiling pumpkins big and plump
Line the porches at night.
The full moon comes for a midnight visit
Much to my delight.
Golden leaves join red and orange
In a flaming dance of glee.
Its time for the football game to start.
I'm watching it from a tree.
Fall is such a glorious season.
I wish it would never end.
But winter is peaking from afar,
Looking for its long, lost friend.
