Here's a fun and beautiful wreath to make for the fall season. This Bronzed Pine Cone Wreath will look great with your autumn decor, inside or out. This wreath is easy to make and will look fantastic on your front door. Created with natural materials, some spray paint and a few common crafting materials, this creative wreath can be made in a short amount of time and with little effort.

Materials For The Bronzed Pine Cone Wreath:

Pine cones, pods, moss
Grapevine wreath
Craft wire
Bronze spray paint

How To Make The Bronzed Pine Cone Wreath:

Step 1. Choosing Your Materials

You will need to purchase or make a grapevine wreath. You can find grapevine wreaths at any craft store, ready to decorate. This is the easiest rout. If you are really frugal, you can find tons of decorated wreaths at the thrift store. Take off all of the decorations, clean and fix the wreath if necessary, and you'll have a grapevine wreath as good to use as a more expensive store bought wreath. You can always make your own grapevine wreath as well.

Choose any size of wreath that pleases you. You can make a large wreath, with all different sizes of bronzed pine cones, or make several small ones with cute mini pine cones if you would like.

You will also need a variety of dried natural materials. Dried pods, leaves, moss, pine cones, acorns and other natural items can be found at the craft store or florist. You can gather and dry your own materials too, of course. If you do plan to dry your own materials, you will need to start the drying process well in advance of making the wreath.

Step 2. Painting Your Pinecones

Lay out plenty of newspaper on your work surface. You should have good ventilation in the room you will be working in, or do the painting outside. If you are concerned about getting spray paint anywhere, you may want to place your newspapers inside a large cardboard box that's laying on it's side. Next, lay out all of your pine cones and other dried materials (except for your wreath and the moss) on the newspaper, giving each piece a few inches of space all around. You can do the painting in several batches if you don't have enough room. Spray with the bronze paint, turning over each piece after they've dried to do the other side.

Step 3. Putting It All Together

Hot glue the moss to the wreath base in small clumps, leaving spaces for the grapevine to show through. Glue on your painted pine cones and other materials as you desire around onto the wreath, wiring on any larger pieces. Tie on a wire to hang if you like.

Hang your Bronzed Pine Cone Wreath outside on your front door to great your holiday guests this autumn.
