Autumn Falls

Aziza Shumba
Autumn falls and calls out to me as I sit and stare.

From behind the window a whistling wind sweeps and keeps the leaves afloat.

Eyes closed.

A smooth buttery whiff of bliss enters my senses.

From the kitchen.

After this, I feel a kiss from the strawberry tart that stole my heart.

I open my eyes to a nice surprise of big turkey legs and chicken thighs.

Happy to see my kin again, I open the door and begin the wonderful day.

Thanksgiving.
