Autumn leaves us breathless
For the colors of the trees
The wonders of Mother Nature
Can bring us to our knees!
Autumn leaves us longing
For the summer just gone by
The swimming and the sunning
As chimney smoke reaches the sky!
Autumn leaves us smiling
At the kids on Halloween
The scariest and the funniest
And the cutest ever seen!
Autumn leaves us thankful
For family and friends
Time for love and forgiveness
A time to make amends!
Autumn leaves us hopeful
That life will still go on
That God' love will shine upon us
Long after autumn is gone!
