Autumn Leaves

Karen Gros
Leaves falling from the trees
floating to the ground.
Red, yellow, orange
A golden blaze.

Leaves falling from the trees
dancing their way to a landing place.
A whirlwind of color,
Nature's beauty.

Leaves falling through the air
carried away by a cool breeze.
Only to eventually fall,
Colors fading away.

Dead leaves are all that is left
of the golden glory of Autumn.
The proof is here on the ground
with piles of leaves ready to rake!

It's a great time of the year. I've been composting most of my leaves for 30+ yrs. It's wonderful stuff to freshen up your lawn..
