Even if the cool change of fall,
Day break is announced in blazing hues
Or orange and crimson,
Slicing through the night
As Old Sol floats above the horizon
While day workers stir and awaken
While others toss, turn and struggle
To fool their bodies into accepting
That it is time to sleep.
Autumn sunrise.
Vision without feeling suggests warmth
That might be soon behind.
Warm colors can be vibrant
Even in the crisp, frozen air of winter.
Autumn days can go either way.
The old adage of
"Red sky in the morning,
Sailors take warning"
Proves the notion that old adages,
Like conventional wisdom
And popular consensus,
May be direly mistaken.
What comes next is what comes next.
After the Autumn sunrise.
Beauty in and of itself;
The opening page of a new day
Or
Just the cover
Which cannot be used to know
What comes next.
The moment is acute
And memorably profound,
Daybreak arrives in silence
Uncorrupted by sound.
Autumn sunrise
Gives us something quite special
And leaves much to surmise.

Post a CommentNice work and how was Maui?
I couldn't comment on your medication article, so I picked another article to comment on instead. I just wanted to suggest the movie "Limitless," which is about taking a pill that lets you use all of your brain. Things are great until someone runs out and stops taking it. I think you would enjoy it. It's an action film with some violence, which I don't normally like, but it was pretty good.
A very original and artistically written poem. Thanks!
Lovely!
Great job as always!
Nice work, David.
