Autumn's Tranformation

Donna Cavanagh
The leaves have started their transformation
The air has turned crisp and cool
The lawn has finally stopped growing
And decorations of ghosts and goblins rule

Tailgate parties for favorite teams
Sweaters come out to be worn
The sun sets earlierin the day
And rises later in the morn

The last days of the year are approaching
But the fall offers a beginning; not an end
A time to hope and look ahead
A time to imagine and dream again

There is something about the fall
Something mystical that changes a heart
Somewhere in the transformation of the leaves
We find the magic of a new start
