Avant Vs Mozilla Firefox - Battle of the Browsers
Avant, a Lesser Know Web Browser that Deserves Recognition
Avant browser is a internet explorer tabbed based browser, which is great when you need to open up more than one page for something. So now your probably thinking "oh yeah, firefox can do that too" which your right, but can firefox disable pictures, flash animations, sounds, videos, activeX,scripts, and java applets to maximize speed to the fullest and the answer is NO. Although I don't turn these options off I'm sure they could help someone out there avoid having there computer slowed down by these things.Next, avant utilizes these commands called mouse gestures and right now you might be thinking "What are mouse gestures?".
Mouse gestures are commands you can do using your mouse by holding down the right button on the mouse and then "draw"on the screen to activate an action.By draw I don't mean like using paint or photoshop but instead like moving the mouse up then right while holding down the right mouse button. For instance you can set up the mouse gestures however you like,so if you wanted to close the browser without clicking it using the mouse you could move the mouse down and then right while holding down the right mouse button (like the letter L) and it would close the browser, pretty cool right. But that's just one of the many features included in this browser, another one is using the back and forward buttons from your mouse without having to click on these buttons.By clicking the right mouse button and then simultaneously clicking the left one the page will go back and vice-versa for the forward button.
Another really cool feature this web browser has is being able to display the whole page on the computer monitor without the toolbar blocking parts of the screen. The cool part is that when you need the tool bar you go to where it was located and it will reappear when the mouse is by it or you can switch back by pressing F12.Still not impressed, well this browser has a roboform plug-in called autofill. What roboform does, if you don't know,is it can put all your information inside of it and save so whenever you need it,it's just a few clicks away and it fills out all the info quickly and easily.
As for this autofill feature,do you ever get tired of having to sign in to sites that you visit almost every day? Well now you can fill out the information and autofill will appear and ask you if you want to save it. When you do this your able to go the the autofill toolbar area, click on the name you saved it under and you will be automatically signed in to that site. This is great for people who have a hard time remembering passwords or user names making it easy to access your sites without fustration. The ability to move all the detachable toolbars anywhere you want is great for people who like to have the browser the way they want it.Ok, let's say you have been spending hours searching for an answer to a problem or just searching in general and you finally find it, but then your power shuts off, sound familiar to anyone? Well with avant you just reopen the browser and it has a box that you can check or uncheck to reopen the sites you were on, before it unexpectedly shut off.
This handy little feature has saved myself a lot of aggravation and stress resulting in being able to focus on what I am doing. There are a ton more features I could keep going on about, but if your still interested look up avant browser on google and download it and try it for yourself, belive me it's worth the download. Although it's my favorite browser what kind of reviewer would I be if I didn't give the negative things I didn't like about it or it's flaws. The first minor flaw I seem to have every once in a while is that some websites (not many and this rarely happens) don't load all the way or pictures don't show up.This is really easy to fix, all you do is refresh but still it's a flaw.I really don't know why this next problem happens but sometimes I'll start avant and it makes me go through the whole setting up the browser which messes up my setting, such as my mouse gestures making it a hassle to reconfigure them everytime. Other than that there is really nothing bad about it so my recommendation is to download this browser and try it for yourself. In my case, my computer goes faster with avant than firefox or any other browser in that case and I would love to hear which browser goes faster for you so post your comments below, until next time later.

Post a CommentWhatever in my laptop with xp/ie6 or my desktop with win7/ie8, the latest release 2010 build 123 rarely crashes even I keep my system and browser running for 3+ days due to working requirement. If you ever used Chrome, you'll
understand what these ybrowser.exe are for. I choose it instead of Chrome due to its stability and compatibility.
The person who wrote this article knows nothing about both browsers, and whoever beleived him should start getting better sources. All the features that he mentioned are available in Firefox, and more. Yes, you can block pictures, java, javascript, etc in Firefox. Yes, you can go fullscreen in Firefox. Yes, you can use mouse gestures in Firefox with an add-on. Firefox is PROVEN to be faster than Avant. Avant is based on Internet Explorer so it is operating system dependent. Lastly, and most importantly, Firfox has the largest addon database of all browsers, that can do anything from store your bookmarks remotely, block ALL ads, and more. Noob C.O.
You can also get a gecko base version of Avant, called Orca current version 1.2, which has all the goodies of Avant but uses the gecko engine that Fire Fox 3.5 uses.
If you like specific FF add ons then you can add them to Orca if you want.
I have Firefox and Avant on my computer but I use the Avant. It's much more better.
This guy is totally right, with all the features and stuff, Firefox could never tip Avant Browser.
I 've been using it for like 5 months now, and this is just IT. Also, i 've been trying firefox for a month or 3, but after that I got sick of al the errors, pages not being displayed properly, f*cking ugly skins and the outdated speed, so I began searching for a new one.
I came across a browser named avant and I did a little research, there wasn't a single bad comment/review about it for the past year, so I just tried it.
Immediatly I fell in love with it^_^
The designs aren't very perfect either, but the external downloadable skins and home skins maker all make up for it.
just go to the site and forums and you'll come across AT LEAST 3 or 4 good skins.
As far as i'm concerned, Mozilla and Netscape and internet explorer all can kiss my ass, Avant is my browser forever..
firefox has mouse gestures and all the above options (as extensions - that way the program can be run streamlined if the user prefers)
god C.O are you some noob or what?
why dont you do some research before you start typing?
firefox has all of the features listed above, except for the mouse gestures and the disabling options. but these can all be mended by the large selection of firefox user generated addons
