Active Ingredients:
Avena sativa (oat), kernel flour, benzyl alcohol, cetyl alcohol, distearyldimonium chloride, glycerin, isopropyl palmitate, petrolatum, sodium chloride, water.
Aveeno Active Naturals comes in a tan bottle with green cap and lettering. It comes in many different sizes, and prices can range from about 99 cents for a travel size to in the three to four dollar range for larger bottles.
Aveeno is your basic white lotion. The smell is neutral and not at all offensive. The lotion is not terribly thick in consistency, and the texture is smooth, even though it does have some oatmeal extracts in it. I used it primarily on my face as that is where I have been experiencing the most problems. But, it's a moisturizing lotion that would be safe to use anywhere. The lotion is dermatologist recommended and has an 866 number on the back for any questions one might have about the product. Aveeno is a Johnson & Johnson product.
I used the lotion primarily on my eyes and around my mouth. It went on smoothly but had a somewhat greasy feel to it. The feeling was much better than the chafing and dryness I had been experiencing, so I can't complain, but after almost twelve hours my face does still feel greasy. The upside to this, though, is that the moisturizing agents are definitely working.
Aveeno Active Naturals claims that it works for 24 hours, and based on what I can tell, it probably will. Although there is a greasy residue, my face feels soft, and the chafing is minimized substantially.
Aveeno Active Naturals goes a long way in accomplishing its goal. Only a small amount is needed to cover the affected area. I used about a quarter sized dollop to cover my face and neck, and that was just the right amount.
I have always had a dry skin problem, but for some reason this summer has been especially bad and I have been miserable for weeks. I am satisfied with Aveeno Active Naturals and wish I'd discovered it sooner, as I would have had relief a lot faster. I recommend this product, just be careful not to over saturate, as it does tend to be greasy.
Aveeno products can be found in all drug and grocery stores as well as ordered online. The website address is http://aveeno.com/ and has detailed information on this and all other Aveeno products.
