Aveeno Positively Smooth Shave Gel

I'll admit that I'm one of those people who will often skip using a Shaving Cream or Gel when shaving my legs. Sometimes I'm really awful and use nothing at all. However, for the most part I'll use my bodywash to help soften my skin while shaving and haven't really felt the need to go out and buy a separate shaving gel. Then, recently, I was told by one of my friends how much she enjoyed Aveeno Positively Smooth Shave Gel. She told me that she doesn't have to shave as often thanks to this product. Well, she had me hooked. If this product did what it promised then I was going to be sold.

The product comes in the usual 7 oz shave gel tin. It has a plastic top and a push down button dispenser. The gel comes out of the pump easily and becomes a rich, white lather when rubbed into the skin. I did notice, however, that it lathers better when my skin is damp and not soaking wet. If my legs are too wet then the gel seems to just slide off, so I always make sure my legs are not too wet. The lather has no scent to it, at least none that I could detect.

I found that this product did give me a good shave. My razor slid easily through the lather and it did not catch or cause any cuts. I was able to not only shave my legs with no catching, nicks or razor burn, but also the sensitive bikini and underarm areas as well. After I finished shaving my skin felt smooth, like there was a layer of lotion already on my skin. This gel does not cause skin irritation and is very gentle.

Of course, the big question is: does it work. Well, I'm happy to say that I did notice a difference. The hair on my legs seemed to grow in slower than usual. My husband noticed that I was staying smoother longer. After using the product for several weeks, I noticed that hair seemed to be a bit finer than before. I was really pleasantly surprised to find that this product does deliver on it's promise. It's not a miracle product but if I even get one extra day of smooth skin without having to shave then I'm a a happy lady. This shaving gel has become a staple in my bathroom. I love it.
