Aveeno Ultra Calming Moisturizer Review

A Product with Feverfew

Sea Shepherd
Recently, I went to the dermatologist and had a chemical peel performed on my face for preventive measures against pre-cancerous growths that can come from some sun damage and age spots. It's been over five years since I had one of these peels done and I forgot how much they can burn. Well, the dermatologist gave me some free samples of Aveeno Ultra Calming Moisturizer. To my amazement, I was impressed how quickly the burning feeling calmed down. Hmmm, maybe that is why they call it Aveeno Ultra Calming? So, I decided to research Aveeno Ultra Calming product online to see what ingredients it had in it.

One main ingredient that is highlighted on the container of Aveeno Ultra Calming Moisturizer is Feverew. Feverfew is a natural ingredient which is similar to chamomile. It comes from the sunflower family and has been used by Europeans for centuries for headaches, arthritis and fevers. It actually means "fever reducer" in Latin. Well, this made sense to me why I received such immediate relief. So then I wanted to know if it had two chemicals I always watch for which are Sodium Lauryl Sulfate and Phthlates in this product. I didn't see it on the container so I called up their hot line number. I was told that all Aveeno Ultra Calming products had neither of the chemicals in them. Aveeno Ultra Calming not only sooths the redness and irritations but provides an even tone to your skin. It is ideal for sensitive skin even those that have rosacea.

Aveeno has been around for sixty years and is on top of the list of recommendations by dermatologist. It is the leader of active natural products with ingredients like oatmeal and soy. In fact, I remember using Aveeno products for my children when they had chicken pox to alleviate the itching.

All the Aveeno Ultra Calming products which include a foaming cleanser, night cream and shaving cream have the same recipe of ingredients as the moisturizer. The Ultra Calming Moisturizer also has SPF 15 which is very important to have on your face daily, whether you are going out in the sun for a short time or sitting in front of a computer with the ultra violet light on your face. Without that protection, over time you can still have damage to your skin.

Aveeno Ultra Calming Moisturizer leaves your skin soft and non greasy. And you can use it for a sun burn too which is nice because it won't clog your pores. The cost for a 1.7 oz jar of Aveeno Ultra Calming Moisturizer goes for about $15.99. That amount is more than half the amount you might pay for a fancy moisturize product at fine Department stores with ingredients that you can't even pronounce. You can purchase Aveeno products at any grocery, pharmacy, or health store.
