Avira, a Good Anti- Virus Tool

The Free Version is Great

Randy Jones
Once again just searching around on Cnet checking out the free down loads I ran across a great product that goes by the name of Avira. Avira is an anti-virus download which has prov en to be a great asset to the protection of my laptop. As with all products I visited the website Avira.com and read the product history and the over views along with the ratings.

I decided to down load the free version, which by the way does not have an expiration and can be updated daily to protect against new on-line threats. I was amazed at the security it provided.

Avira has it's headquarters in Tettnang, near Lake Constance in Germany and is a global IT supplier for professional as well as private Internet security. As a technological leader in the Unix market, Avira has developed leading-edge standards throughout the market. Other Avira innovations include virus protection solutions for Symbian and the world's first SAP-certified virus protection.

It is worth the time you take to visit their web site because they have valuble information on particular web sites to be aware of as far as back door viruses. One in-particular will surprise you as it is one of the largest social networks in the world. If you visit the site and would like to try the free version of Avira it is easy to find.

To Locate The Free Download:
Go to avira.com and click on the Home and Home Office Tab and then click on the download button and you will see the free download tab. Now as most products you can purchase a premium version or browse and purchase specific software depending on your needs. I do not think you will be disappointed as Avira has several European awards such as Oesis-Gold, vb100, PC Welt (which interpreted is PC World), AV Comparatives for Corp use. With these and many other awards plus many hours of testing you will be sure that with this product your Internet experience will be safer than before.

I've never used Avira, I usually go with AVG Free. Since I am running Windows 7 RC x64 I went with Avast. I might have to look into Avira though.
