What are the benefits of avocados?
Avocados are good for your Health.
In the past, the "alligator pear" was advised not to be consumed as often because it was high on fat. But now studies have shown that avocados, being the only fruit that contains mono and poly unsaturated fat, will help lower cholesterol while fighting heart disease. Now consumers are incorporating avocado practically in all their meals. Instead of mayonnaise in a sandwich, lets try avocado. Now a days, you can even purchase a bottle of avocado oil to pair with your salads or to cook a healthy meal. One fifth of a avocado contains 50 calories and over 20 vitamins and minerals. In addition, it will help you lose weight or maintain your current weight. Avocados are also great for your eyesight. Avocados contain 81 milligrams of lutein; a natural antioxidant that helps with our vision after we get older.
Avocados are great for hair and skin
I know it sounds odd to smear avocados all over your face and hair but avocados have this smooth consistency that helps hydrate your body while stimulating hair growth. It is also said that avocados can be used as an anti- bacterial and anti-wrinkle ointment. It can also be use for acne, dermatitis, psoriasis and eczema.
Consumers are even using avocados for skin and hair masques.
Some ways for using avocados as a beauty regimen is by mixing avocado, cucumber, and a green face masque, then leaving it in the fridge for a couple hours. Wash face with soap and water and don't pat dry, then apply it on to your face. It will leave your face feeling oh' so soft! while leaving that resilliant glow on your face. It also can be used as an exfoliant; instead of the mask, take a good amount of avocado and mash it, then add a little bit of oatmeal and gently scrub.
Using it as a hairmask helps stimulate your scalp by moisturizing it. This helps your hair growth. Take one egg yolk and a good amount of avocado with 1 table spoon of olive oil and mix. Olive oil helps alot in leaving your hair extremely smooth. Apply the mixture as you would apply a leave in conditioner, leave it on for 10-20 min and follow with your regular shampoo and conditioner. Less shampoo is always good, because shampoo tends to overdry your hair, with those sulfates. Conditioners have a cleansing solution as well.
Well now that you know what to use avocado for ou will be saving yourself alittle bit more money. And you can also say you are slowly going green.
I'm off to buy more avocados.
