The main reason I dislike Jiffy Lube is because of their prices. In the past, when I was going to Jiffy Lube, they would always suggest that I buy the high quality synthetic oil. This ended up costing me about sixty five dollars, per visit. As it turns out, my vehicle runs fine without the high quality synthetic oil. It's just a waste of money to have your vehicle filled up with the "high quality" synthetic oil. So don't do it!
Another reason why I feel Jiffy Lube is a bad place to have your oil changed is because they always try to convince you that you need their "special services". For instance, Jiffy Lube has a service that cleans your fuel filter. You don't need that service done. In fact, if your fuel filter is dirty, you need to buy a new one. Don't bother with the chemical solution. Just go see a mechanic or fix it yourself.
Another product that Jiffy Lube insists you buy from them is a simple air filter. It cost me forty dollars to have my air filter changed at Jiffy Lube. That's about twenty seven dollars for labor. I can buy an air filter at Walmart for thirteen bucks, and install it in about three minutes. It's a very simple installation that a ten year old could do. How does three minutes equal twenty seven dollars? It's absurd!
A final reason why I detest Jiffy Lube is because they don't do everything that they say they're going to do. For example, with your oil change, Jiffy Lube says that they will wash your windows, air up your tires, clean the interiors; etc. I can guarantee you that they never washed my windows, aired up my tires, or cleaned the interior of my car.
For the record, I now go to Walmart for my oil change. They do all of the services that Jiffy Lube did and didn't do for only twenty five bucks! Plus, I can shop for groceries or other supplies while my oil is being changed. It's quite convenient.
Any of you who are planning to have your vehicle serviced at a Jiffy Lube station should reconsider your decision. You're probably being overcharged and cheated out of your hard earned dollar.

Post a CommentJiffy lube is the worst place to have service done. They damage more than they fix. They never checked my wifes battery for water. they checked sealed battery when it wasn't. My daughter was going on a trip and I sent her to have her car serviced. She came home and her radiator was dry. I went to the business and ask do you check all fluids ,radiator and the girl said yes. I showed them the car and the service boy said he checked it They then offered a radiator flush for a charge. I complained to higher up management and they called the business and talked to the manager and they took his word over mine. I vowed never to go there anymore.
Synthetic oil is NOT a waste of money. You change oil every 10,000 miles.
