Donna Daniels
Pumpkin seeds are a good snack since they are tasty and they can promote healthy kidney function by reducing the risk of kidney stones. Pumpkin seeds are a kidney remedy that is easy to take since pumpkin seeds are good to eat. Pumpkin seeds are best to eat in a raw state but that is not always possible since you can only eat raw pumpkin seeds in a fall when pumpkins are ripe. Another good way to get your pumpkin seeds is to eat them unsalted so that you are not getting all that salt in your diet.

In the fall when the pumpkins are ready to harvest is the best time of year to get your pumpkin seeds. Once the pumpkins are orange they are ready to pick. Once picked you can wash the pumpkin and slice it open to reveal the pumpkin seeds inside the pumpkin.

You can use a pumpkin as double duty. Pick your pumpkin and open it up in the fashion of carving it into a Jack-O-lantern. Scoop out the insides of the pumpkin and separate the pumpkin seeds from the pumpkin innards. Then set your pumpkin seed to the side while you finish carving your pumpkin.

Once you have the seeds from the pumpkin you should wash the pumpkin seeds in cool water. Use your fingers to remove the extra pumpkin goo that you don't want on your pumpkin seeds. Place the seeds in a low oven to dry them out.

Once the pumpkin seeds are dry you can eat them or grind the pumpkin seeds into a powder. You can mix this pumpkin seed powder into water or juice when you take your pumpkin seeds.

You will probably need to consume five to ten grams of pumpkin seed a day to help prevent kidney stones. This can be easy if you just use your snack time for pumpkin seed time. Take a handful of pumpkin seeds for a snack everyday to help reduce kidney stones.

Pumpkin seeds are very medicinal and they can also help out parasite problems and intestinal problems. There are usually no side effects from eating pumpkin seeds. Pumpkin seeds are an easy medicine to swallow since pumpkin seeds are good to eat and they make a terrific snack at home or on the go.
