Avoid Looking Fat in Pictures

Shannon Frye
I now realize why people hate looking at pictures of themselves. It's because all of us look really fat when we get our pictures taken. Especially when you're not expecting the picture. You don't want those fat looking pictures lingering around for years to come. There are certain ways that you can make yourself look at least 15 or 20 pounds lighter just by following a few steps before the picture is snapped. Here's what you will want to do to make yourself appear thinner in those photographs.

The first thing that you always want to do is raise your head up level or slightly towards the sky. Never place your head in a downward position because it will give you a double chin appearance no matter how thin you really are. To look even skinnier you can turn your head slightly to the side and raise your head up a little bit. You can practice different looks in the mirror to see which works well for you. When somebody comes to snap a picture of you, remember to never place your head down because this will make you look like a turkey!

You will always want to turn a little bit sideways in front of the camera. Never place your arms directly down at your sides because this will make your arms appear to be fat. Even if you want your arms to remain by your side you will want to hold them out a few inches so that it reduces the flabby arm appearance. It's like when you sit down and everything flattens out. You don't want this to happen, so never squeeze your arms together when you have your picture taken. This will make the skinniest girl in America look fat, no matter what.

The problem with photos is that they will automatically add weight on to your picture. The picture will always make you look like you weight an extra ten or fifteen pounds. If the person taking the picture is shorter than you are, this will add on extra weight because the pose will not be right. You will want to practice many different poses move around your feet, pulling up your chest and sucking your stomach in, to see what will work out the best for you. Remember, don't suck your stomach in a whole lot or everybody will be able to tell. No you wont have to take off running with those pictures once somebody shows them to you.
