Mind the gap. Driving into the rear of the car is one of the most prominent causes of whiplash injuries that we meet every year. Therefore, it is very important to mind the gap while driving, to avoid such a scenario. Don't drive on the tail of the vehicle you are following otherwise it will be too late to realize when did you ran into them. You are supposed to halt safely incase they stop. It would be a benign act if you recall the highway code of conduct and driving rules (before going for a drive) that emphasizes the vitality of maintaining good safe distance with another vehicle.
Stop predicting about other vehicle. Keep in mind, other driver may not be as skillful as you. You cannot keep predicting about other vehicles because there can be many reasons that can force them to make unexpected move. For many reasons other may not move as quick as you because- they may be callow driver, their car may not be as powerful as yours or they can be too frail to react fast. While passing through crisscrossed path you may predict about the movement of other vehicle by noticing their momentum and inclination; but this can be proved to be a wrong judgment and you can run into another vehicle causing whiplash injuries. Therefore it can prove better for you and others if you consider others to be a terrible driver.
Stand well behind junction. Don't stand on threshold when you are required to stop due to traffic jam at junction. Keep some space in front of your car so that you can move off safely (without crossing zebra line) in case you find other vehicle losing their control otherwise you may have to face major accident. It will be wise to leave some space between your car and zebra line to avoid whiplash accident. You can do what one of my friends did. He sustained only few injuries in a major accident at a junction because he left some room for his car.
Remember, whiplash injuries may last for a long period of time so it's better to avoid them by being careful especially during winter.
