According to information on WebMD, foods that will help those who do not eat dairy products include sardines and salmon. If you are not a fan of fish or dairy products greens may be the answer. Greens such as Chinese cabbage, kale and bok choy contain calcium. Collard and turnip greens also contain calcium.

Fortified cereals and breads often contain calcium in the form of vitamin D. Read labels to be sure you are getting what you need.

Of course calcium supplements will be a good addition to any diet lacking the calcium one needs. Sunshine or a supplement of vitamin D is needed with calcium in order for the body to absorb the calcium. Be sure to check food labels to see if what you are eating contains additional vitamin D.
