Some Simple Tips and Advice

Craigslist has become a major online website used to meet local buyers and sellers and get almost anything you need for cheap. But sometimes not everyone is so legitimate and there is always someone looking to make an easy buck off of you. This article will teach you a little about how to avoid scams on Craigslist.

The first to know to avoid scams on Craiglist is to just use common sense. If something is over the top cheap then chances are that it is probably a Craigslist scam. No one wants to sell you a 2008 truck for 2,000 dollars, this would most likely be an example of a Craigslist scam. Read through the posting and see if they sound legit, sometimes you can tell just by how a posting is written that it is not just a common person writing it, and just that little bit of a tip off is enough for me to avoid the article and know that it might be a Craigslist scam.

Another good thing to do is always check into the Craigslist posting. First start off by contacting the person by replying to the posting. If they answer, and the seem like they are not running a scam then ask for additional information. Next call the Craigslist poster, ask them questions about where they are, information about the Craigslist product, and always ask to meet in a public place in daytime, to avoid a Craigslist scam.

Another tip to avoid a Craigslist scam is to test the Craigslist product before any money exchanges hands. If it requires to be plugged in then a good thing to bring along is a car power converter which will allow you to have an outlet at your car. If the Craigslist product works and it does not seem like it is a scam then exchange money. But I can't stress this enough, to avoid Craigslist scam don't give the poster your address.

If you follow these simple tips to avoid a Craigslist scam then you should be able to use the site without any kind of scam or trouble occurring.
