Avoiding a Valentine's Day Disaster

It's one thing to know how to give your girlfriend the perfect Valentine's day. It's quite another to avoid making it a disaster. When you plan your day keep in mind that it's not just about making the day wonderful, you also have to avoid making mistakes. You've already read in my previous article how to give your girlfriend the great day she wishes for. Now here are tips so as not to ruin it.

1. Surprise her, Don't shock her.
You want your special girl to feel special right? You want her to be astounded at how sweet you are, to be caught up in the beauty of the day and with how absolutely romantic you are being. For that to happen she needs to be surprised, pleasantly surprised. The key here is a happy medium, don't shock her. Surprise her enough so she enjoys it. Don't shock her so much that she can't enjoy the moment.

2. Make sure it's a present for HER, not for you!This is something that's done much too often, buying a "present" for her when it's really a present for you. Make sure it's focused on her, not what you would want. Don't buy her some sexy lingerie she can dress up for you in, that's something she'd buy for YOU. Instead get her something she'd love to wear about, some dress or sweater she'd looked at but can't afford to buy. Don't satisfy yourself, please her.

3. Don't take her someplace unromantic.You should take her to someplace that has a meaning for you both. I've already said that, you have to make sure though that the place your taking her is romantic. Romance is what the day is about, romance is what should be delivered. Which leads into the next tip.

4. Be Romantic. Be Romantic. Be Romantic. BE ROMANTIC. How many times can I say it? How many times can people ignore it? A lot, on both counts. Don't be crass, or sarcastic even if that's sometimes just who you are. Today is a day to let her know, unreservedly how much you love her. The key there is unreservedly. Toss aside the things you would normally consider.

Be romantic. Show her your love.

5. Make the day all about her.Don't make plans except with her. Don't spend time with friends, unless you two have something planned with them. Don't go out to the store, don't play games. Focus on her. Make her breakfast in bed, take her anywhere, but no matter what you do. Make the day about her. She'll be striving to do the same for you.
