Avoiding Varicose Veins During Pregnancy

Private Pen
Varicose veins sometimes rear their ugly heads in the mid to late stages of pregnancy. What in the world are these things and why are they ruining your life?

Veins in your legs can become overloaded as a result of the slowed circulation caused by the greater volume of blood and the pressure of your growing uterus.

Try avoiding standing for long periods of time. If you must stand, try to move about as much as possible, and wear supportive hose.

Avoid remaining in any position that might restrict the flow of blood through your legs. For example, don't sit with your thighs pressed against the edge of a chair or cross your legs when you sit.

Rest several times a day with your feet elevated.

For some women, varicose veins are difficult to avoid, but with proper care, you can increase your chances of never getting any at all!
