I use to love Avon, and all it's products, I also respect the woman who attempt to make the most of it. It's always nice to see a person trying to make something of themselves.
I work in a line of business that helps people work at home, and or sublimate their income. We get many people asking us to add their referral links to our site, so we have a Terms of Service and a Privacy Policy which protects us and our members from this type of spam and abuse. In fact if you look around at any legitimate company you will see at the bottom of the webpage in fine print, links to the terms of service and privacy policy.
One day an Avon representative decided she was clever, and didn't contact the owner directly, instead she contacted the whole management staff with her spam. So all of us decided to report the spam for exactly what it was. We spent hours going over Avon.com site. Avon's terms of service, and privacy policy, to discover that no where in it does it mention anything what-so-ever about spam issues or abuse. Each of us managers took our turns contacting Avon's staff to report the abuse / spam. Each contact either through phone, or email, lead to even more confusion to Avon's staff. They actually said they never heard of spam, they had no idea what to do.
What did Avon do after countless reports? Over a week of emailing back and forth with loads of misunderstandings on Avon's part. Avon told us to block the Avon representatives email address. They told us to contact the Avon representative, and have our email address removed. Constant replies, as though they didn't even read the report, that was repeatedly attached to each and every email. I finally sat down and called them, and I got a hold of a woman who started to ask me MY personal information. I asked her what she needed it for, she then proceeded to tell me she couldn't do anything without my personal information. So I asked if she could guarantee that the Avon representative wasn't going to get my personal information, and the woman said No! I'm not the spammer, their own Avon representative is, and I have to expose my personal information? And on top of that she admitted they have never heard of spam being a problem and had no idea that ISPN's close people's accounts for spam. She then said how the Avon spammer's Avon representative manager would talk with her about this and it would stop. I asked if she would lose her job, because in any other company she would. The woman on the phone repeated herself and said that's her Avon representative manager's decision, which means nothing will be done since it's a pyramid and the manager doesn't want to lose her commission.
So if you want to be a part of a company that permits you to spam anyone and everyone including businesses, then this might be the employment you are looking for.
I'm simply studded they have and do nothing about abuse and spam. This is the first time I have come across a company that does NOTHING, and has nothing in their terms of service and privacy policy to guard others against this very abuse.

Post a CommentAvon does not deal with legal issues that involve their representatives with any class. They say they are independent contractors. The best thing to do is to go through Consumer Protection agencies, a lawyer and any other legal means, outside of Avon, at your disposal. If she spammed your entire business, look under unfair trade practices to find out what can be done. Going thru legal issues about a rep threatening me. Avon is no help.
