Five years ago the inhabitants of Avon, Ohio decided that there should be an annual festival. It was not until searching for sponsors of this festival that they discovered the prospect of the largest duct tape marketer and everything began to fall into place. After some talk, it was decided that instead of a city festival they would do something different and create a duct tape festival! And so, the birth of the festival began. Duct tape enthusiasts everywhere were delighted, as were the members of the city, who now have a widely popular festival to attend year, after year. Five years later, and the festival is still going strong with local food, carnival rides, contests and the annual parade.

You simply must visit the Avon Heritage Duct Tape Festival in Avon, Ohio to kick off your father's day festivities. What dad doesn't like duct tape and hasn't used it on numerous occasions to fix anything from a wall to a Child's toy? This is the perfect way to celebrate all that your dad has done for you! I bet you didn't know that Avon, Ohio has been crowned the Duct Tape Capitol of the world? I only wish that I lived closer to this prestigious area!

Avon is a popular destination for this celebration of all things duct tape because of its close proximity to Cleveland, it is only twenty five minutes from the city!

The festival begins on June 13th, and lasts until the 15th, come out at 4:00 pm to begin enjoying all the Duct Tape Festival has to offer. It is located in veteran's Memorial Park in Ohio. Saturday and Sunday the doors open at 11:00 am, and stay open until 11:00 pm on Saturday and 5:00 pm on Sunday.

For the adults there are the beer gardens that are offering the musical talents of Dann and Lilly at 5:30 on Friday evening. Come out and join the fun, listen to great music, all while having a wonderful time in the best garden around! Sunday at 3:00 the entertainment in the beer garden changes to the musical tunes of Billy Sullivan. Come and join and you are sure to be in for a treat.

There is a living sculpture that is going to frequent the fair grounds, making the way throughout the festival, try and catch up for an interesting sight. "Joy Unspeakable" is sure to be a delight for the entire family.

In addition to the wacky duct tape sculptures and activities, there are rides, the traditional carnival fare, special attractions and events for everyone in the family. The festival makes light of the wacky uses of Duct tape, for all the enthusiasts!

Consider buying a wristband to keep the children busy all day with ride after ride. These come at the low cost of fifteen dollars and all you can ride!

Many come to see the famous parade that holds a different theme every single year. This parade is going to be themed as a pirate and will start at 10:00 am on Saturday, the fourteenth. The route starts at 36600 Detroit Road and continues west to route 611 which is Stoney Ridge Road. After this, the parade will turn left at 611 and end at the Avon Middle School which is located at 3075 Stoney Ridge. Although this is a short parade route, it is bound to be filled with entertainment for the entire family.

The Duct tape festival is all about family, and it offers something for everyone whether that person be a child, a duct tape enthusiast, or both!
