Tell Everyone!
The best idea to get new recruits is the simplest of them all... Tell everyone about the opportunity you have to offer. If nobody knows you are an AVON Representative or that you have an exciting new opportunity for them, how are they going to know about it. Cashiers, waitresses, friends, neighbors, family members and co-workers are the best place to start. You don't have to go out preaching to the city but simply strike up a conversation that leads to you selling AVON. Use that as an opportunity to tell people what you do and how much you love it. Then ask them if they know anyone who would be interested in doing what you do. Don't ask them directly if they would like to do it as, they may feel pressured. Simply ask them if they know anyone who would be interested in earning extra money. That will give them the chance to speak up if they are interested. If not then you may have still bought yourself a new customer.
Your Best Customer Could Be Your Best Recruit
Another idea for getting new recruits is to ask your best customers. Do you have one of those great customers who spend $50 or more every campaign? Do you have a customer that is a great helper that brings you extra orders every campaign? These kind of customers are the best prospects for new recruits!
Tell them all about the AVON opportunity and how it's only $10 to join and how they get 50% off their first 4 orders and a good percentage off their following orders. Show them how they can not only save hundreds of dollars off their own orders but how they can earn more selling to family and friends. While you may lose that $50 every campaign in sales, you will gain that much in your leadership bonus!
Raffle for Prospects
Holding a raffle is also a great way to get new recruits. Simply offer a gift basket, full size item or even a gift certificate. On the raffle entry form provide a place for their name, address, phone number, and whether or not they have an AVON Representative and if they would like more information on receiving their items at a discount, and if they would like more information on becoming an AVON Representative for only $10.
You can place as many raffle boxes out as you would like. Check with your local shops, florist, salons and any where else you may have, to see if you can leave a raffle box there for their customers.
Once your date has come to draw for the raffle, collect the boxes and take them home, do the drawing and contact the winner. Now that your drawing is over you have possibly hundreds of new leads for not only customers but recruits. For all of those who stated they would like more information on becoming a representative or getting their products at a discount, this is your opportunity to contact them and tell them all about the AVON opportunity. You may even plan to set up a time for all of those interested to get together with you for a seminar type event where you can go over everything with everyone at the same time, answering questions, and giving ideas!
Advertise
Advertising is a great way to get new recruits! Putting and add in local newspapers are only one of many ways to advertise. You can advertise your opportunity by posting ads on online ad sites like Craigslist and Orlando Ads.
You can also advertise by doing simple things like putting "Help Wanted" labels on your brochures, posting flyer's on bulletin boards, flyer's in your brochures and putting it on your business cards. These are simple and easy ways for advertising that cost only pennies!
Tailgating
Tailgating is an awesome way for getting new recruits. Many AVON Representatives find this to be the best way. However, some representatives do find it less appealing as you don't see any other direct companies setting up tables in parking lots.
Tailgating is simply getting up plenty of brochures, samples and any products you may have on hand. Get together plenty of kits or mini kits and take them with you. Create signs that say "FREE AVON" one someone comes up and asks what you mean by free AVON tell them you have free brochures and samples. Finish it off by letting them know you are giving full size products for anyone who joins AVON today. Let them know it's only $10 and there are no quotas. Even if they aren't interested give them the opportunity to earn their products at a discount just buy opening an AVON account for themselves! Many will find this as a way to save money and then in return become a rep and most likely start selling to others!
Job Fairs
Job Fairs are a great way to find new recruits since most of the people there are looking for an opportunity to earn money. Set up a table and put together brochures, flyer's and samples in What's New bags. Have hundreds ready for the big day! Also, great surveys or a drawing in order to get their info and follow up. This will also be a great way to get prospects for those who didn't seem interested at the moment. You may also want to have plenty of kits or mini kits in case they chose to sign up immediately!

Recruiting is not a bad thing I dont believe, if you are doing it the right way. Yes do we all want to make money, but the point is to also help other people make there dreams come true and teach them how to run a successful business.. I dont sell Avon I am a Cookie Lee Consultant so I know how Direct Sales works.
I also like the great ideas I've read here, but I have to agree with Me(guest). There is so much recruiting going on, it will dwindle the buyers. One rep that I'm familiar with recruits two or three every single week. This is a small town and it won't be long before the market is flooded with reps. Thankfully, I have several out of town customers that are helping me grow my business or I'd be in a fix.
I have no one in my downline as of yet mainly because I don't believe you can be a good leader if you haven't gotten it figured out yourself.
Thank you for some great ideas on how to expand my Avon.
how long does a new representives last in selling avon.
Be sure to tell them how Avon has recruited so many reps in so little time, it's going to take them hundreds, nay, thousands of brochures, tanks and tanks of gas, fees and fees paid for expo tables and ads, hundreds of phone minutes begging and pleading with 'leads' to order, before they'll see any kind of profit? Wait, I left off business cards, labels, pins, hats, tees, car magnets, samples, printer ink, etc., etc. I've been at this for months full-steam and have made zero so far. And don't you dare say I haven't been trying because I have, every single day. Avon, please stop recruiting soooooooooooooo many reps in my area! I'm sick of driving 10-20-30 miles just to find a customer. If an Avon rep approaches you about the "opportunity," tell them that you know it's a pyramid scam and that you won't buy from any rep who recruits.
