Avon Skin so Soft Original Replenishing Body Lotion Turns Dry Skin into Hydrated Skin

Susan Slade

I received in the mail, a sample of Avon Skin so Soft Original Replenishing Body Lotion. It was a nice change to get a sample big enough, to be able to decide, how good it was. The bottle is 50 ml. (1.7 fl.oz.). It looks identical to the 11.8 fluid ounce size, apart from it having a screw lid, instead of a flip one.

Living in Florida, my skin does get dry, even though I don't sit in the sun. I go through so much body lotion, and moisturizers.

The bottle is 'plain and simple'. It is white and has a green oblong in the middle, with black writing.

Upon opening the top, I tore off the protecting seal, to see white liquid that looked similar to milk. I put it up to my nose, and I could smell lavender. When I tipped the bottle up, out came a lotion that ran slightly, but didn't drip off the back of my hand. As I rubbed it in, it felt really cooling. It stayed shiny, but wasn't greasy. My hand did feel wet to the touch.

I used the lotion on my left hand and arm, and didn't put any lotion or moisturizer, on the right ones. It states on the website that it is:

"For ultimate softness. Provides 24-hour moisturization. Clinically proven to double skin's moisture."

So the following morning I checked on my hands and arms, and the one that had the Avon Skin so Soft Original Replenishing Lotion, was more hydrated, and felt softer. So the next test was on my legs from the knee down to the ankle. I put the Skin so Soft on the left leg, and used Eucerin Calming Creme Daily Moisturizer, on my right leg.

Even though the Eucerin moisturizer was thicker, after a 24 hour period, I have to say that they both performed as well as each other.

Avon Skin so Soft Body Lotion has, "White lily, lavender and notes of sparkling citrus create the rich woodland scent that makes ORIGINAL a classic & an AVON Customer favorite." It has shea butter, and vitamins. I do have the long list of ingredients, but didn't feel it necessary to list them.

I wanted to see how it would compare price wise with other products, and it retails for $8. However, today when I checked on the Avon website it was on sale for $4.99. If I didn't purchase anything else, the shipping would have been $5.95.

I will finish up my sample of Avon Skin so Soft Original Replenishing Body Lotion, and wait to see if I want any other Avon products. If I can get my order to a certain amount, I can usually get free shipping.

Avon have certainly come along since I was a representative, back in England, 40 years ago. I do love the Skin so Soft range of products. The next one I will be trying is the Signature Silk Moisturizing Body Lotion.

Have not tried any of the Avon products, but this sounds like an interesting one to possibly purchase. rcj

We are all allergic to all the Skin So Soft products. For me it actually attracted more mosquitoes rather than repel them. I know this works for many other, great write up!
