Not far north of Venezuela lies Aruba, which is also part of the Netherlands Kingdom. The climate is one of the greatest things about the island, because unlike other islands in this region, Aruba doesn't have a rainy climate. In fact, you may even find a few species of cacti living in some desert-like land.
Aruba has a high standard of living for its residents, and the tourism industry caters towards the classy, high-end market. So if you wish to vacation in Aruba, your stay there is going to cost a bit more than if you were staying at some of the nearby Caribbean islands. But the stay is definitely worth it! You'll enjoy Aruba's white sand beaches and crystal clear blue waters. And you don't have to lie on the beach all day if you love the water, because you can try your hand at diving, swimming, parasailing, snorkeling, sailing, and jet skiing among other things.
From January to Ash Wednesday, the very important Carnival season takes place on the island. There's a variety of festivities which travelers can take part in, including: children's rides, contests, parades, special foods, midway games, parties, and more. If you're looking for a really exciting time to vacation in Aruba, you must try to go during the Carnival season.
Since most of the island's revenue comes from tourism and many of the tourists come from the U.S., you'll find plenty of English speakers among Aruba's residents. The U.S. dollar is also widely accepted in major restaurant districts and shopping areas, for a fee. The exchange rate is fairly fixed, though, so you can easily exchange money if you want to. Aruba lately has become a second home for many of the wealthy from the U.S. and around the world.
You can fly right into the country's large public airport or take a cruise through the Caribbean islands and stop in Aruba for a day. This island has a little something for everybody: whether you'd rather relax and sleep in the sun or experience an exciting adventure, Aruba is definitely a vacation paradise you should consider taking at least once in your lifetime.
