Awesome Group Halloween Costumes

Kelly O'Neil
Halloween is here, and it is time to hit the party scene in force. If you want to make a real impression, grab two or twenty of your closest friends and head out in one of these group costume ideas.

Saddle up and ride on out. Grab your favorite partners and get along little doggy in your Western wear. This is one of the less expensive ideas as everyone has denim, and you can get as elaborate (or not) as you want with boots, hats, braids, straw, belts, leather and fringe.

Along the same lines, get the gang together and don your biker gear. A little leather can go a long way. Ladies, you know you've always wanted those leather pants anyway, and what a perfect opportunity to buy them. Get really artistic, and draw on tattoos, use temp tattoos, or buy those shirts that have sleeves covered in art to look like tattoos.

Go as the guys from the "Blue Man Group" All you really need is a ton of blue face paint.

If you're into the blue scene, but have a few ladies in your group, then hit the parties as the Smurf clan. Don not tell me you don't remember the Smurfs. Those strange little blue people can be created by wearing plain clothes, blue sweat suits, and lots of blue paint.

One of my all time favorite movies is "The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas" which is, of course, a bit un-politically correct, and perfect for Halloween. Ladies, don all your lacy attire, and if you have a man in your midst, let him join in as one of those hot Southern policemen, and you're set. Oh, and girls, don't fight over who gets to be Dolly . . . every party can use more than one Dolly.

Guys, get your boys together, and prep it up as any one of the boy bands out there. If your girls want to join in, let them come along as groupies.

Ladies, you can get your music on, too. Go as the "Pussycat Dolls" or the "Spice Girls", and you can bring along a few groupies, too.

With all of the hubbub about celebrity paparazzi troubles lately, what could be more fun that going out as the 'evil' paparazzi themselves. For some added fun, throw in a few celebutantes to chase down and the group is complete.

Finally, any occupational jobs are fun to do in a group. Try going as zombie baristas, catcalling construction workers, sailors, mad scientists, starving models, or any other group. Be sure to really get into character.

Costume parties are fun, but can be a little intimidating all on your own. So grab your friends and go in a group. You'll have more fun, and make a bigger impression to boot! Have a safe and Happy Halloween!
