"Goldfinger"

Generally one of the most popular and most-mentioned Bond films, "Goldfinger" is the movie responsible for the unforgettably-named Pussy Galore. Starring Sean Connery as James Bond, "Goldfinger" is probably the movie you want to get if you have never seen a Bond movie before, and it may make a good introduction for someone who is unfamiliar with movies about espionage.

"The Man Who Never Was"

Set in 1943, during World War II, when the Allied forces are getting ready to invade Sicily, a plan is devised to plant dummy plans on a dead soldier to convince the Germans that the plan is to invade Greece.

"The Man Who Never Was" is a cerebral spy movie featuring military espionage. The plot is intricate and well-explained. This film may not please viewers who prefer more swanky, exciting, gadget-laden espionage of James Bond films, but it is a great pick for historical espionage buffs or fans of military espionage.

"The Conversation"

When a man who makes a living as a private investigator records a personal conversation he thinks might get the speakers killed, it unleashes a chain of events in his life that cause him to question the nature of his employment.

Directed by Francis Ford Coppola and starring Gene Hackman, "The Conversation" is some serious deep dark espionage, with a theme that causes the viewer to question the nature of surveillance and the viewer's own personal privacy.

"The Saint"

Women love this movie for captivating 90s heartthrob Val Kilmer, a womanizing thief with no name and no home. Men love this movie for the large explosions and multiple Elizabeth Shue lingerie scenes. The rest of it is passable.

"The Saint" is not exactly awesome, but it is entertaining. The writing is fine. There are plenty of explosions. The benefits to "The Saint" seem worth forgetting that the costuming is a little cheesy and some scenarios a little unlikely, and every character Val Kilmer plays seems like pretty much the same guy in a weird disguise. Some steamy scenes and romance embedded in the action make "The Saint" a good espionage movie for couples or date night.
