Gatorland Zoo
Alligators are abundant in lake areas throughout Orlando and other parts of Florida. At Gatorland Zoo, there are plenty or alligators lying about in enclosed areas under the hazy Florida sun. There are live shows, where handlers feed alligators. It is interesting to watch how the handlers interact with such dangerous animals. The handlers are trained and experienced, and by no means should anyone ever try and feed a live alligator, which is strictly prohibited at Gatorland Zoo.
There is also a small petting farm at Gatorland Zoo for children to feed safer animals; such as goats. Admission ranges from fourteen to twenty three dollars. The website has discount specials and information on events. The park is located at 14501 South Orange Blossom Trail. Hours are 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., rain or shine. There is free parking at Gatorland Zoo.
Wet N' Wild
On a hot day in Orlando Florida, water parks are a fun way to cool off. Wet N' Wild is Orlando Florida's most famous water park. This particular water park in Orlando has loads of extreme water slides. Many people enjoy Wet N' Wild because of the size of the slides. Some of the slides are the height of small buildings. People wait in line to try these heart pounding rides; some of which are twisting and turning. Parents often drop their teenagers at the park, where they can spend the whole day. There are refreshment stands and small food items available too. Wet N' Wild is open daily from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. The park is located at 6200 International Drive. Admission is $47.95 plus tax for the day for adults. Children and seniors $41.95. Check the website for group packages. Florida residents receive discounted admission. A parking ticket may be required for daily admission. Free parking depends on individual passes or tickets.
Museums
The Museum of Orlando is a cultural museum with both masterworks and artisans on the local, regional and international level. Admission ranges from five to eight dollars. The Museum of Orlando is located at 2416 North Mills Avenue. Hours are Tuesday to Friday from 10am to 4pm, and Saturday and Sunday from noon to 4pm. The Museum of Orlando is closed Mondays and major holidays. Members of The Museum of Orlando receive free admission.

You can read some of my other Florida related articles to see some off-the-beaten path spots, if your really that interested.
Well most tourists expect traffic and want the main spots to visit, the kind you find on the glossy brochures. This article is written for general tourists.
well written and lots of good info...tho' I live in Fla. and try to avoid Orlando at all costs...traffic sucks there and plus, there's so many other cool places to see in FL, I'd rather check out less populated areas. But good job on the article :)
