Obesity seems to be in the news every day and now fighting fat can be fashionable with a new bracelet called the A-Wrist-A-Trac. This beaded bracelet is based on the USDA food pyramid. This bracelet is a great idea for those who need to improve their nutritional intake. Changing unhealthy eating habits can be difficult and frustrating. The beaded bracelets are color coordinated and do not have any tags or symbols stating they are a dieting or weight loss tool. Discreet and stylish the bracelets can be a helpful visual and physical reminder for the wearer.

Here is how they work. The wearer begins the day with all the beaded bracelets on one wrist. The beaded bracelets colors represent the different food groups. At any given meal if the wearer eats one serving of vegetables they would take off the bracelet that represents that food group so one green bracelet comes off and is put on to the other wrist.

The A-Wrist-A-Trac bracelet can be a valuable asset for those trying to improve their portion control habits and be an encouragement for those who are simply trying to eat better and do not currently consume enough healthy foods. The bracelets also ensure that the wearer gets enough variety as well. Meats, dairy, fruits and fats in the appropriate amounts.

Currently there are two sets of bracelets available on the A-Wrist-A-Trac website the Spring Collection is 30 bracelets in pastel colors perfect for Spring. The Fall Collection is comprised of 30 bracelets in rustic colors which complement fall fashion. Both collections include a 23 page booklet which describes the bracelets and how to use them. The A-Wrist-A-Trac bracelets are very reasonably priced at $20.00 for either collection of 30 bracelets. Two additional versions of the bracelets are expected to be available next year for diabetics and children. The A-Wrist-A-Trac bracelets were invented by a group at the University of Nebraska Medical Center and the Nebraska Medical Center.

Perhaps the best feature of the A-Wrist-A-Trac bracelets is how easy yet functional they are. Anyone can use these bracelets to alter their unhealthy eating habits and improve their diet. Not a fad diet that promises easy weight loss without any need to exercise, the A-Wrist-A-Trac bracelets follow sound nutrition practices whether the wearer is aiming for weight loss, weight maintenance or just a higher quality diet. The bracelets can be incorporated into any calorie counting or food group based diet plan.
