AZ Flips Old Records into Fresh, Unique Sound in Undeniable

Brooklyn, New York, rapper AZ is one of the most skilled lyricists in the game. He has released several critically and commercially acclaimed albums and was a member of The Firm with Nas, Nature and Foxy Brown. Now, AZ is back with his latest album, Undeniable. Will AZ be able to capitalize on his success with his newest album?

The first single off of Undeniable is Life On The Line. AZ is at his best when he is riding over a '70s soul sample. The whole genre fits with his old school, lyrical heavy style. The track is catchy however not the strongest on the album.

The second single off the album is The Hardest features Styles P from The LOX. The song features strong verses from both of the New York lyricists. The track will definitely appeal to hip hop heads.

On Go Getta AZ is joined by R&B crooner Ray J. The song is fairly solid. The beat is fairly simple and not all that catchy. The song just is not that melodic. The song is definitely not what you would expect from Ray J. Ray J is usually not found singing on an old school sample.

What Would You Do features R&B singer Jay Rush and an extremely catchy beat. The song is one of the catchiest tracks on the album features AZ in his element. The song is classic AZ.

Parking Lot Pimpin' is another track featuring a 70's soul sample. AZ flows over the beat effortlessly and the song feels as if it is straight out of the movie Shaft.

Fire takes an old school sample and completely flips it into a very unique track. The song is solid and features AZ showing off his lyrical ability.

Now I Know is one of the harder sounding tracks on the album. The song starts off with a soul sample, but builds into a completely different feel.

The title track Undeniable sums up the whole effort; AZ flips old records into something new and unique. Undeniable is clearly one of the strongest tracks on the album.

After listening to Undeniable it is evident that AZ is one of the strongest lyricists in the game. He may not be accepted by the mainstream, yet he knows how to appeal to hip-hop purists. Overall Undeniable gets 7.5 out of 10. If you are a fan of the Brooklyn based AZ; make sure you pick up his new album Undeniable when it is available in stores on April 1.
