Mid morning on Sunday, November 11, 2007, my family decided to venture off into the uncharted waters and go to lunch to Azar's Big Boy restaurant.

Some of you may know this restaurant as Frisch's Big Boy; as I did before moving to the Fort Wayne area. Azar's Big Boy serves your normal Frisch's Big Boy meals such as the Big Boy sandwich, and my favorite, the Buddy Boy.

Due to the kids having free kids meal coupons they had got from Halloween, we were all on our way to Azar's Big Boy Restaurant. When we were greeted we were sat almost immediately.

The morning was going perfect. We sat down and waited for our waitress, Penny. She took our drink order and came back with them fairly quickly. There were silverware and menus' at our table, but nothing for the kids to color. I asked Penny if we could have something to occupy the kids with while we waited. She then brought some crayons and a coloring pages for all four of our children.

By the time we ordered our food, we were freezing. It was 39 degrees outside and it felt like they had the air conditioning blowing full force. When Penny brought our food to our table I asked her if she could turn the air off, and that we were "freezing". (Keep in mind, by this time we all had put our winter coats back on to stay warm.) She didn't really have any thing to say, she just kind of smiled. So I assumed that she heard me and would take my request into consideration. But unfortunately we ended up dining with our coats on the entire time.

After leaving I had realized that my cell phone, which was in my coat pocket, had fallen out. My five year old then told me that he saw it on the floor at the restaurant and was going to get it for me, but he went to the restroom and forgot. So, when I realized it was missing I called the restaurant to see if they had found it. But no cell phone had turned up.

I went back to the restaurant to look for it myself, but still no sign of the cell phone. I saw Penny and she told me that right after we had left, they sat another family of six at the same table, whom had kids. She wasn't sure if maybe they took it or not. I left them my name and number, and told them to call me if someone were to turn my cell phone in. They were very nice and let me know that they would call me if the cell phone turned up. I am grateful for their compassion.

In conclusion, our trip to Azar's Big Boy demonstrated prompt service, but was not very attentive to our needs to climate control. So if you are looking for a warm place to eat this winter and you go to Azar's, I recommend staying away from the Atrium. And folks if your carrying around cell phones, purses, or anything of value, keep them safe and secure. There are good people out there that would turn them in, but even more that would keep them to themselves.
