B. Bernice Young Elementary Kids Sing Praises of Obama

Mark Whittington

Another video of children singing praises of Barack Obama has surfaced on Youtube. In this case the kids appear to be students at B. Bernice Young Elementary School in Burlington, New Jersey. The overall effect is somewhat creepy.

The kids at B. Bernice Young Elementary School were not as polished and produced as the children who sang in the Sing For Change video that surfaced in the campaign. But the objection of having children singing praise songs to living politicians, especially one as controversial as Barack Obama, still adheres.

It has always been the practice in tyrannical countries to gather up fresh faced, well-scrubbed kids and have them sing praises of the local leader. Such was the custom in Nazi Germany and Maoist China and is still done in North Korea. It is not something that is done in the United States.

American patriotic hymns do not, as a rule, celebrate people, even great ones like Washington and Lincoln. The Star Spangled Banner and the Battle Hymn of the Republic celebrate the common people of America, struggling to win and to maintain freedom.

What happened at B. Bernice Young Elementary School is even more egregious in the fact that at least for the Sing for Change video, the parents suborned their own children for the propaganda spectacle. It is doubtful that any parents of the kids at B. Bernice Young Elementary School even knew that their kids were going to be singing Maoist style praise songs for 'Barack Hussein Obama.'

That's right; they said 'Hussein', which was supposed to be a big no no. Barack Obama is supposed to be "He who shall not be middle named."

The lyrics themselves bear some examination.

"He said red, yellow, black or white

All are equal in his sight.

Barack Hussein Obama."

That's right, the lyrics and the music come directly from "Jesus Loves the Little Children." This is going beyond the beyonds, as this writer's Irish granny used to say.

The tendency of President Obama's supporters to confuse him with the Almighty has been noted before. From Oprah referring to Obama as 'the One' to Obama addressing the multitude in front of a façade that resembled a Greek temple, the mystique of Obama as somehow divine has been cultivated shamelessly. Even the early Roman Emperors did not, as a rule, claim divinity until they were dead. The exceptions tended to be raving lunatics.

The teachers and administrators at B. Bernice Young Elementary School need to be disciplined and reminded that their job is to teach the children in their charge reading, writing, and arithmetic and not to indoctrinate them into worship of the Dear Leader. Despite what the Libyan but case wants, Barack Obama will be gone one of these days, sooner or later. The children will have to learn that whomever happens to be President of the United States is not responsible for their happiness some time. It might as well be now.

Emma, you really don't get it! I don't care if Obama is purple with pink polka dots, I do care that you want him to be worshiped like he was some sort of a God. I am also concerned that he and Pelosi want to put an end to freedom of speech, bankrupt the country, sell us out to our enemies and kill off old people.

American people are so narrow minded these days. The hymn was not to "jesus loves the little children" If it was Bush they were singing about nobody would care, it wouldnt make it on youtube or anything. Just because it says red yellow black or white does not mean anything bad, would you want him to say only black or only white or only yellow or only red??C'mon every race lives in this country and if they live here and are citizens then that means they deserve the rights as an American requardless of color! Grow up people!!!!!!!

Would there be such objections if the kids had been singing about a president who was white? Under the Bush regime, anything less than sheer worship was called unpatriotic.

This issues must be raised to the very top of the ladder at the New Jersey Department of Education.

After looking into this and calling the "Office of Complaints and Controversy" at the NJ Dept. of Education, it appears that these complaints are being handled by the Chief of Staff - 609-292-4432 - of that department.

I would urge every parent, tax payer, etc. who does not think our children should be indoctrinated like those children in the videos about in the mid 1990's of Saddam Hussein being serenaded by school children about how great he is...

This is absurd and if this had happened during the Bush years, the principle would have been kicked to the streets, punished, fined, and fired.

Call and complain! Chief of Staff - 609-292-4432

Call the school if you want to let them know how you feel about this 609 386 3520. I did and told them how repulsive I found the whole affair!

I have to agree wih CH. I try to deal with my lib friends who make nutso comments (which always include insults aimed at anyone who doesn't agree with them) thusly: yes, raaa, you are correct. We should all be singing HIS praises daily. In fact, you and your friends should push to make this an amendment to our Constitution, as soon as you intall the ONE as President for Life. I'm sure you will be rewarded. Good luck with that.

  • CH 9/24/2009

Yep, raaa is all over the blogs talking about how this is okay because it was "Black History Month". Whatever. There's really nothing anybody can say to explain to idiots like him why this is so reprehensible. They'll just never get it.

  • Swamp Willow 9/24/2009

I've seen raaa going all around the blogsphere making this same comment. Methink he doth protest too much.
