The house was originally built by mayor David Dunkle in 1922, during the Florida land boom. The house was neglected at one time, but has been lovingly restored. The bed and breakfast offers elegant surroundings, indoor and outdoors. Every morning a two course breakfast is served in topical gardens, or in the formal dining room. Beautiful china, silver and Waterford crystal are used to served delicious breakfasts daily. The two historic houses that provide the setting for the Hibiscus House, were both built in 1917. They were moved to their current location in 1996.
