We all know that Brooklyn is a hotbed of indie rock and that you can usually find a great band on almost every corner. The Fort Greene/Clinton Hill area is one the places where the music is really progressing and the genre owes a lot to labels like Ba Da Bing Records on Clermont Avenue.

They have a slew of great up and coming bands in their stable including Woom, who was just included on one of the hottest indie compilations around, Congotronics which also has tracks from big names like Animal Collective and Deerhoof.

They've recently been promoting Brooklyn-ite crooner Sharon Van Etten who has just released her new album "epic" on iTunes. Be sure to keep an eye out for her. Her sultry voice is poised to blow up anytime. She's currently out on tour so be sure to check her out!

The label even plays host to a few local gigs, including Colossal Yes' first show in New York since 2008 slated to go down on October 14th at Barbès in Brooklyn.

I am a huge fan of indie rock and its local guys like label founder Ben Goldberg who are really pushing the envelope and providing the scene with some of the coolest acts around. That's largely the reason why Fort Greene/Clinton Hill has become such an epicenter of great indie music. Make sure to head over to their website so you can get in on all the action.
