One Stop Shopping for Your Family of Little Ones

When I was preparing for my upcoming pregnancy the first thing I did was go to Babies R Us and register for tons of things that I thought I would need once my son was born. Even though I wasn't planning to have a baby shower, I still wanted to register just in case someone wanted to buy us something and they didn't know what to get. Registering for the items you will need helps your friends and family in deciding what to get for you. It takes the guesswork out of it.

The following is a list of all the different departments that Babies R Us has in its store.

1.Furniture - cribs, dressing tables, rocking chairs, changing tables, toddler beds, armoires, cradles, toy chests, mini table and chairs, and so much more They even sell the mattresses that fit in a regular size crib. Surprisingly the one thing you can't buy at Babies R Us is a twin bed. They have cribs that convert but they don't see regular twin beds. I found that to be a little annoying. I couldn't buy my son a big boy bed that would match his furniture set.

2. Bedding - Babies R Us has a huge assortment of bedding to choose from. As soon as you walk into the bedding department you will see all of their designs displayed up on the wall. This is a great way for you to pick which bedding set you want. On one side, they have all of the girl designs and the other side they have all of the boy designs. You can buy the comforter sets, sheets, pillows, lampshades, mobiles, diaper caddies, bumpers, blankets, and even more matching items for your theme.

3. Infant Care - Here is where you can find thermometers, over the counter medication, band aids, manicure sets, nose suctions, creams, powder, q tips, cotton, medicine dispensers, scissors, baby wipes, etc...

4. Bath - In this section you will find bathtubs, towels, washcloths, soap, shampoo, conditioner, bath toys, rubber mats, moisturizers, lotions, creams, and anything else you will need for bath time fun.

5. Feeding - Of course here you will find bottles, nipples, cleaning accessories, cups, plates, bowls, spoons, forks, sippy cups, dishwasher baskets, bottle bags, bottle warmers, all bottle accessories, bibs, placemats, high chairs, booster seats, and anything else you will need for feeding time.

6. Diapers - Here you will find diapers in all sizes and in a variety of brand names, pull ups, baby wipes, potty seats, and more.

7. Highchairs - They have all different highchairs and booster seats to choose from ranging in price as well.

8. Pack and Plays - They have a huge assortment of pack and plays to choose from. They make ones for single babies and ones for multiples. They also have sheets to put on the mattresses for the pack and plays.

9. Strollers - If you have one child or multiple children. They have lightweight umbrella strollers, midsize strollers, full travel systems, jogging strollers, and more. Here again the price ranges from inexpensive to expensive.

10. Car seats -They carry infant car seats that fit in the travel systems, forward facing and rear facing car seats, convertible car seats, booster seats for older children, and car seat toys.

11. Clothing - Babies R Us carries clothing from newborn up to about 4T. Once your child is almost at 3T or bigger, the selection of clothes is limited. I did better for my son when he was 1T to 3T. Then it was harder to find his size. They sell onesies, socks, pajamas, shirts, pants, shorts, jackets, hats, shoes, sweatshirts, sweaters, outfits, and brand names such as Carters, OshKoshBgosh, Nike, Koala Kids, and more. You can find great sales on their clothes at the end of the seasons.

12. Toys - How can I forget the toy section. Here again you won't find a huge selection like Toys R Us but you can find a lot of toys for younger children. They sell learning toys, books, DVD's, balls, outdoor toys, exersaucers, Vtech toys, phones, dolls, and so much more....too many to list.

13. Photo Center - I am not a huge fan of the photo center but it is called Kiddie Kandids. You have to call ahead and make an appointment, it gets extremely crowded. They do a good job but everyone is in one room and it can get noisy and overwhelming for children. I prefer to go to Sears Portrait. You can get your own studio!

14. Customer Service - I haven't really had a problem with the customer service department at Babies R Us. As long as you have a receipt and return or exchange your item within 90 days, you won't have a problem. They are getting a little stricter with their return policies.

15. Food - You can buy formula already made, formula in the mix, baby food, organic baby food, cookies, Gerber Graduates, juice, juice boxes, and so much more.

Over all Babies R Us really is one stop shopping for your family of little ones. The prices can be a little more expensive than Target so try to get some coupons. Sign up for their mailing list and you will start receiving coupons in the mail. Now that my son is almost two and a half I haven't really been shopping at Babies R Us anymore. It is definitely geared more for little ones.

You can go on their website at BabiesRUs.com to find a location nearest you. You can also order items online. It will automatically connect you to ToysRUs too. It is a great website to search for the items you need.
