I have been making ribs this way for years and people are always stunned at how tender and yummy they are.
Summer is a great time for cook outs and a great time to try something new! If you try this recipe be sure to comment on how you liked it!
My favorite BBQ sauce is Sweet Baby Rays but you can use whatever you like best.
One trick is to buy the ribs when they are on sale at your local deli counter. They freeze well and that way you can save some extra money too. When I buy them I usually buy at least 4 racks.
Here is what you'll need:
4 racks of baby back ribs (more or less)
1 bottle of favorite barbecue sauce
one onion
one head of garlic
salt and pepper to taste
4 cups water
2 cans beer
Directions:
One large stock pan filled with 4 cups water
2 cans lager beer (poured into the water)
One onion coarsely chopped
One head of garlic coarsely chopped
Bring the water mixture to a boil and place ribs into the pan.
Boil for an hour.
Then turn off burners and allow the ribs to cool in the water for about 30 min to another hour.
Remove ribs from water (they will be very tender and want to fall off the bone so be careful)
Lay them onto some aluminum foil and spread both sides with your favorite BBQ sauce.
Take them off the foil and place them directly onto your heated outside grill for about 10 minutes or until the sauce gets sticky and the ribs are slightly charred.
Serve immediately with cob corn, coleslaw or other BBQ favorite!
