When I was younger I was the type of person that would go with the flow. If you're a Baby Boomer you are very familiar with that saying. Well it seems as soon as I hit fifty things started to change Big Time. I no longer had the patience for all the crap that's been going on in this world for a very long time. What has changed is now I do something about it!
It may only be a phone call, an article, or just saying my peace when necessary. I don't have to go and stand on a picket line, blow something up, or threaten anyone with their life. However, I do feel the deep need to at least do something. Why this happened after the age of fifty I cannot tell you for sure, but I'm confident it has something to do with reaching my limit on the Crap Meter.
I am known as a fairly conservative, easygoing person, well at least until the last few years. This little old pussycat has gotten thrown out of a post office, been screamed at for doing the right thing, ignored by family members, and cursed by Ex's who couldn't get away with their Sh...t anymore. Yes, it seemed like I just woke up one morning and said NO MORE!
It's not just things like I just mentioned, it's also the littlest things that I'm ticked off about as well. You know, like bad customer service, rude people in stores who let their kids run wild, people that don't do their jobs, so I end up doing them instead, and so many more things it would take a novella to list them all. Is it just me or are all the Baby Boomers just plain fed up with the horrible changes in our world, and sick and tired of putting up with it?
I do remember the first time I became aware of this epiphany about life, I was walking across a parking lot with my son. Well, this guy in a big old pick-up just barely missed hitting me in the butt as he went by after we crossed the parking lot road that led to the supermarket door. My son immediately turned around and gave him a dirty look. The guy stopped his truck and yelled some crude thing at us. Well, that did it! I yelled back at him while sharply pointing at him "You want to take me on, let's do it". I couldn't believe it, this big old hunkin' guy looked at me and took off in his truck. I actually scared him. Well, my son was just as shocked as I was at what I had done, this was not MOM. I must tell you I have never felt so powerful in all my life. I just couldn't take one more rude person, one more time.
So what happens to people who have been around long enough to get this way? We may never know the exact cause of this metamorphosis in later life, but I do know one thing, WATCH OUT world cause this Baby Boomer has had ENOUGH!

Im not a baby boomer but i too get severely annoyed at many of the things you mentioned. Especially unruly children in stores.
When I get really irritated with someone...I stop..okay sometimes I give them the finger, but then I smile and blow them a kiss...they get the idea.
