Baby Boy Found in the Garbage on an Airplane on Flight from Saudi Arabia to Philippines

Julia Bodeeb
A human life is always precious. Every baby unwanted by its parents could make another family or person somewhere very happy. I have always been mystified how someone could just throw a baby away. Who treats a human being like garbage?

And yet now it has happened again. A baby boy was found in the garbage on an airplane. How could a human being jump dump a child in the trash? This is truly horrifying.

Flight Originated in Bahrain and Went to Philippines

Manila International Airport in the Philippines was the place where the baby boy was found. The incident occurred on a Gulf Air plane. The flight originated in Bahrain, went to Manilla and then was returning to Bahrain, reports the NY Daily News.

While the flight was being cleaned for the return flight the baby was discovered. He was quiet and covered in debris and blood. He was also wrapped in tissue paper. Perhaps some fingerprints could be found on that paper to try to trace who left the baby in the trash.

Baby Boy Found on Plane is Healthy

The baby boy appears to be healthy with strong vital signs. He weight 6 pounds and 6 ounces. The mother of the child apparently gave birth on board the plane. It is hard to imagine how that could happen. Airplane bathrooms are so small. Also it seems odd that someone staying in the bathroom that long or noise didn't attract the attention of the airplane crew.

If family other than the mother can be located the baby may be given to them. Otherwise, the baby boy may be put up for adoption to start life with a new family.

The baby has been named George Francis by the airport staff. His initials relate to the name of the air fleet he was found on, GF for Gulf Airline's code, notes the Daily Mail.

Was the Baby Born on the Plane or in Saudi Arabia?

Could the baby have been born to someone who was working in Saudi Arabia and fled the country because they knew having a baby there (if unwed) could be a serious problem? Since the flight originated in Bahrain someone from another country who was in Saudi Arabia could have fled the country due to the pregnancy.

Some foreign workers in Saudi Arabia, such as maids, are reported to be treated harshly and sometimes raped. If this is how the baby was conceived perhaps the mother was not in her right mind at the time of the birth.

Conditions for maids in Saudi Arabia can be quite bizarre. For instance, recently it was widely reported in the media that a maid there had nails hammered into her hands by the household members who were upset with her.

Or could a staff member or cleaning crew member on the plane have had the baby? It is likely the answer to who had the baby and where will be as shocking as the news that the baby was left in the trash.

Have a Great Life George Francis

Best wishes to the baby George Francis for a good life. He deserves the best after having to start his life in such a horrific way.

Finally, an international event that doesn't involve the U.S. I'm glad that the baby is ok.

What an awful story. We need to think about the points you mention, of how we treat women that these types of desperate actions seem necessary.
