Baby Crib Recall

Pat Bartels
I received an email the other day from Walmart that listed several baby cribs that have been recalled. These beds were sold between December 2009 and January 2005.

The hardware for the drop side can fail causing the drop side to detach from the crib. This leaves a space where an infant or a toddler might get caught and suffocate or strangle. These beds can also be dangerous if a slat breaks and can also cause strangulation or suffocation if the child gets caught.

These are the beds as Walmart listed them:

UPC: 6585713897

UPC: 6585713896

If you have purchased one of these beds from Walmart, please stop using the bed right away and call Dorel Asia for a free replacement kit. Call toll-free, 1-866-762-2304, between 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. EST Monday through Friday, or visit the firm's website: www.dorel-asia.com.

Please check your cribs so that baby will be safe.
