According to the Target website, the Baby Einstein Discover And Play Activity Center, Caterpillar stimulates and entertains with 9 interactive games and toys, introduces babies to color, shapes, textures, animals, nature, language and music, features a gentle rocking motion, 3 height adjustments, 360° swivel seat, designed for little ones less than 32H" and weighing under 30 lbs, and is 31H". You will need to purchase 3 AA batteries for the light up sounds and animals buttons. They were pretty hard to install. I needed my father in law to help me install them.
My son was a little short at first when we started putting him in this. I took a rolled up towel and put it under his feet to stand on. This actually worked really well. My son seemed to enjoy spinning around and seeing everything around him. I think he liked the feeling of being independent since he wasn't crawling or walking yet. For me it was great, I was finally able to get some things done around the house. The yellow star really seemed to mesmerize my son. It does pop out easily so be careful with it. Always use this under adult supervision. He loved to press the animal sounds and hear the sound while the buttons lit up. First they say the name of the animal then the sound in both English and Spanish. Then they play a little music to go along with it.
The adjustable height feature also isn't so simple to figure out. You are going to need more than one person to change the height. The cushion in the seat is washable. But there again, hard to figure out how to install. They need to make some of these features a little bit more user friendly. My son wasn't really into the green puppet. It just kind of sat there and did nothing. He also didn't play with the globe. The most he played with was the light up animals and sounds. He did like to jump up and down even though it wasn't a jumping toy. Maybe they should add that feature to this toy, I think that is a great idea.
I would still recommend purchasing the Baby Einstein Discover And Play Activity Center, Caterpillar. Although there are some flaws, they aren't serious and they don't prevent your child from learning and exploring with this toy. I would just make sure to try and find it for the lowest price you could.
