Baby Gymnastics Bounce & Spin Zebra by Fisher Price

My son received the Baby Gymnastics Bounce & Spin Zebra by Fisher Price for his first birthday. He was way too young for this toy at that time. Although it was a nice idea, he was too young so it went into the basement. When my son was about a year and half I remembered that I had this toy. I took it out of the box and put it together one afternoon. I was surprised how much room it took up my family room. It didn't matter though, I knew my son was going to enjoy riding on the zebra. I was right. He got right on top of the zebra and started riding. Twisting and turning, playing with the lights on the front of the toy. It was so much fun watching him have so much fun. He stayed on there for a good 15 minutes. That's a lot of time for a one and a half year old to focus on one toy.

We ended up keeping the zebra toy upstairs for the whole summer. I would say that he got 3 months of really enjoying this toy. After the third month of playing with it, he started getting a little bored. All it did was turn and light up with some music playing. I guess it was fun at first but then as he started getting older, he just outgrew up. So yes you guessed it, the zebra went back down in the basement until the next little one comes around. I felt sad putting it away but since it is so big, I couldn't justify keeping it in the family room if he wasn't going to play with it anymore. The recommended age for the Baby Gymnastics Bounce & Spin Zebra is anywhere from 12 months to 3 years old. I wish I was able to get that much use out of it. I am sure some children do and they enjoy it for longer. My son seemed to move on once he started walking.

For the spinning zebra you will need 3 AAA batteries which are included. I never needed to replace the batteries since my son didn't really use this toy for that long. If you are interested in purchasing this toy it is a little bit expensive. I did receive this as a gift but I found it on the Toys R Us.com website and the selling price is $44.99. To be honest with you, there is no way that I would have paid that much money for this toy. I probably would have paid half of that. I would only recommend this toy if you could find it for a much less selling price. There are a lot of other toys out there that your child will probably get more use out of. I could be wrong, this is just my personal experience. Maybe my next child will be a little bit more interested in it for longer. Amazon.com is selling it for $59.99, even more than Toys R Us. That is just way too expensive.
