Baby Names for Country Folk - Images They Evoke

Elle
No matter what you name your child, people will always develop an instant image of them and their personality just from hearing their name. This happens all the time when we talk to people over the phone. The tone of their voice in conjunction with their name puts an image in your mind about who they are and what they look like before you ever meet them. So naming your child is a very important step in their life.

Country names can be tricky. Typically, they come from those who live in rural areas or those who were born in the south or somehow identify with that type of lifestyle. Most parents who choose a country name identify with the "good old boy" mentality of the south.

While all of these names reflect a country or southern tone, they all have very different implications. Some of the names can be associated with old fashion values while others ring a tone of less than average intelligence. There are a few that have typically represented the hunky, well-mannered, "good old boys" that many parents find attractive when naming their child.

Here are some images or values that might be associated with each name.
