Baby Nursery Theme Ideas for Girls

Jody Morse
A baby nursery is a place where you will spend a lot of time with your baby. For this reason, it should be warm and inviting. Choosing the right theme can help ensure that the nursery will be a place for you to bond with your new baby. Here are some cute baby nursery theme ideas for girls to take into consideration.

Cherry Blossoms

If you are planning to opt for a feminine baby nursery, a cherry blossom theme can be ideal. You will want to begin by painting the walls a shade of light pink. Also consider adding a cherry blossom wall decal, such as the one which is offered by Smiley Walls Art Studio on Etsy. Various online retailers sell cherry blossom baby bedding and mobiles.

Butterflies

When planning a butterfly baby nursery, be sure to consider color options. If you are planning on a feminine nursery, consider painting the walls pink and purple. Some may prefer to opt for gender-neutral colors, however, such as yellow and green. Yellow and green can be ideal if you also want to incorporate ladybugs and bumblebees into the nursery. There is a wide variety of butterfly baby bedding and matching mobiles available to choose from. Also consider using butterfly decals for the nursery.

Care Bears

Winnie the Pooh is a very gender-neutral baby nursery theme. If you want to opt for a similar theme but would prefer a more feminine look for your little girl, Care Bears may be ideal. Consider painting the walls pink, purple or another color of your choice. It is also ideal to consider painting clouds on the wall, which can be easily done with a paint sponge kit. Care Bears baby bedding and mobiles are offered at many retailers, including Wal-Mart. Be sure to purchase some Care Bears stuffed animals to complete this baby nursery theme.

Fairytale

A fairytale nursery theme can be an ideal option for your little princess. While you can paint the walls any color of your choice, pink is of course the most feminine option. Another option is to go the Victorian route, by leaving the walls a shade of antique white and using a castle wall decal. An old-fashioned mirror, which will resemble Snow White's mirror, can make a beautiful touch. Consider finding a baby crib which is designed to look like Cinderella's carriage. Most retailers sell fairytale or princess themed baby bedding and mobiles.

There are many great baby nursery themes out there to choose from. The most important thing is to put a little bit of thought and planning into the décor you choose. The right baby nursery theme not only will ensure that your daughter's room is welcoming, but it may also have your friends in awe at your creativity.

I like the idea of decorating a nursery with cherry blossoms. That's such a pretty, feminine theme. It's also a theme a little girl is likely to want to keep as she gets older.
