Baby Product Review: Fuzzi Bunz Cloth Diapers

There are so many different types of cloth diapering products, and I have tried quite a few. For me, Fuzzi Bunz have come out on top. I have been using Fuzzi Bunz cloth diapers for almost three years with both of my children. For those people who decide to cloth diaper their baby, either for long-term money saving, baby health/allergies, environmental friendliness, or simply for personal choice, Fuzzi Bunz diapers seem to be very popular in the cloth diaper industry. They have been featured in newspapers, such as The Chicago Tribune and The New York Times, and magazines including Time Magazine and a number of national parenting magazines. My second son is now 11 months old and I am still using my original stash of Fuzzi Bunz which I used with my now 2 and a half year old until he started potty training. When I first started I had no idea how many diapers I would need and what inserts to use. I started with a set of 12 small sized Fuzzi Bunz, which I used until my boys were about 6 months old. That's when we went to the size Mediums, and I am still using this size today on my 11 month old. I have saved so much money by cloth diapering with Fuzzi Bunz. My two stashes of Fuzzi Bunz together with all of the inserts ended up costing me $500. Now this may seem like a lot, but consider that I have used these diapers with 2 children, which would have basically come out to be nearly $3000 in disposable diapers. Not to mention, the amount of disposable diapers I would be adding to the landfills. And there is no reason that I couldn't use them for a third child as they have definitely withstood the test of time. I have not had any problems with leaks, rips, fading, stains, etc. The Fuzzi Bunz wash just like your regular laundry, except with dye-free and fragrance-free detergent and you dry them in the dryer without fabric softener. It's that simple. I would have to say that one of the best perks has been that neither of my boys suffered any kind of diaper rash. There are no chemicals in cloth diapers and they allow the baby's skin to breathe, unlike disposables, so the incidence of diaper rash is very rare and unlikely.

Fuzzi Bunz come in many different colors, and now they have come out with a new hip design and several gender specific and neutral patterns. Sizes range from XS(4-12 lbs) to XL(45+ lbs). Fuzzi Bunz are considered pocket diapers, which means you place an insert into the diaper for absorption. This is great because you can adjust the absorbency of the diaper by using different types of inserts with different absorbencies for your babies specified needs. For example, at night you can double up on the inserts for that extra added protection, while during the day a thin microterry insert would probably suffice. The microfleece on the inside that touches your baby's skin is nice and soft and has the added benefit of wicking moisture away from your baby, keeping them happy and dry. Fuzzi Bunz are also easy to don, having snap closures on the front which can be adjusted for leg opening and waist size. The adjustments are generous, which allows you to use a particular size of Fuzzi Bunz for quite a long time, before needing to go to the next size up. The snap closures are very durable, and I have yet to have one fail. As an added bonus, the snaps are pretty much impossible for your little one to get undone.

Overall, I would definitely recommend Fuzzi Bunz to anyone considering cloth diapering their baby. They are so much nicer looking that disposables, easy to use, easy to wash, and save you loads of money in the long run!
