Looking into baby eyes
Which never touch your soul;
Deadened senses to pitiful cries,
Only motivated by money's goal.
Which never touch your soul;
Deadened senses to pitiful cries,
Only motivated by money's goal.
Looking in a mirror
And seeing only a yellow hue,
Crushing the life out of
A more beautiful creature than you.
Avoiding facing up
To your part in this bloody toll -
I guess in place of your heart
Is just a deep black hole...
Seal Day, March 15th. The clubbing of baby seals saw me protesting against this obvious barbarity when I was 8 years old - after seeing Kent Gavin's famous photograph here, in 1968. Sadly, the Canadian seal hunt is still here, and it shames us all. - P.R.

Excellent poem.
:(
This is a magnificent poem. I also protest the seal hunts and try to spread the word in a compassionate way (rather than yelling and screaming, which nobody listens to, anyway).
Nice poem, horrible events.
This is just terrible. So nice of you to write about this.
This tugs at my heart in such terrible ways. It is hard to understand in this day and age the cruelty that is still around and witnessed every day.
It's so gruesomely bizarre. Anything for a buck.
I am glad that you wrote this. (Agree with Chissie's comment.)
You're fight, it's a damned outrage. Excellent poem about it.
